Are you ready to take the next step with your business plan? Need feedback from successful entrepreneurs and cash to get that idea moving towards commercial success? The Centre for Business, Entrepreneurship & Technology (CBET) at the University of Waterloo welcomes undergraduate students to participate in an entirely virtual business plan competition!
The RISE (Reaching Innovation, Sharing Entrepreneurship) is completely online, so students from all over the world can take part in the competition! It will be hosted through three rounds, each designed to help participants focus, provide them with feedback, polish their business plan and prepare them for the final round as well as future challenges. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and the grand prize includes an automatic qualification for the Wes Nicol Competition, hosted by the Sprott School of Business, and a chance to win $10,000!
The deadline for round 1 of the competition is Thursday, January 28th, at 12:00 am EST!

We are currently involved in the RISE Business Plan Competition; a competition for MBET students, held through CBET. This has been a great experience for our practicum team, SportMetrix. Throughout the year, SportMetrix has evolved through much iteration. We have reached a point where I am getting increasingly excited about the idea and its viability is really showing itself. We have handed in business plans, done 90-second video pitches and it has really helped us organize our thoughts. Check out our practicum project at http://www.cbet.uwaterloo.ca/mbet/practicumprojects/index.html and post comments to my blog entry; feedback is always welcome!
