I Am My Ambition launched its latest video today!  This week’s video features Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery, the creators of Kill Shakespeare Entertainment.

Kill Shakespeare is a comic book series where the greatest heroes of William Shakespeare’s plays are pitted against Shakespeare’s most menacing villains.  The heroes set out for a quest to find a reclusive wizard named William Shakespeare who may have the ability to assist them in their fight against the villains, while the villains are on a mission to kill the wizard Shakespeare.

Held at Waterloo-Kitchener’s most fabulous venue, Communitech’s signature event took place in the early morning of Wednesday, July 14^th. Eight of us had the opportunity to be part of this high-profile conference, and were able to walk away with a set of fresh ideas.

Kicking off by keynote Clay Christensen, bestselling author of The Innovator’s Dilemma, the conference raised the energy of the attendance by Christensen’s unique theory about disruption.

The other two keynotes did not disappoint either. Bill Taylor, the co-founder of Fast Company, invited us to rethink about the differences between individuals. Noel Biderman, President of Avid Life Media, challenged our perspectives on social entertainment by confronting us with one of the most controversial websites.

Aside from the innovative speeches, we also took part in Communitech’s annual tech expo, and interacted with regional’s leading firms and high potential startups.

We felt applied to the HR team and Impact in general from matters such as being innovative and accepting ideas (from Noel’s speech) to understanding that we need to distinguish ourselves. – Macro Yim

I Am My Ambition launched its third video today!  This week’s video features Sarah Prevette, founder of Sprouter, a web site designed to help entrepreneurs connect and collaborate with each other. Sarah Prevette has been named one of Inc.com’s 2010 30 under 30 list.  Be sure to also check out The Globe and Mail’s article on Sprouter.

In this video, Sarah talks about the challenges she faced as an entrepreneur, as well as the importance for entrepreneurs to work with others and to maintain enthusiasm for their ideas.

I Am My Ambition launched just last week and they has been great reception. The website was viewed by 35 countries across the world and hit 400 hits in its first few days with just the Impact team’s support in gaining exposure. This is just the beginning.

Every Wednesday invites a new entrepreneur to explore his or her challenges, fears, where it went it wrong and how it turned out okay. Many exciting stories to hear that hope to inspire youth everywhere.

This Wednesday, IAMA brings us Jordan Monaghan, founder of Angle Media Group. Jordan discusses the importance of taking action now and jumping in with both feet. He talks about how he overcame a challenge of running a business in his own basement.

UNITY Charity, a youth-led organization dedicated to helping youth make positive life choices through artistic expression, is hosting the Kickoff 2010.  The Kickoff 2010, in support of UNITY Charity, will be Toronto’s biggest youth urban arts event of the year. Taking place on Saturday July 24th at Yonge-Dundas Square, the event is also UNITY Charity’s largest fundraiser of the year.

The Kickoff is a free all-day event, featuring live performances by youth and professional artists, urban art classes, break dance battles, public art spaces, and much more. The Kickoff 2010 hopes to entertain both youth and people of all ages, allowing them to experience the energy and passion of the city’s young performers. Earlier today, Impact launched its newest initiative, I Am My Ambition (IAMA).  IAMA is an online awareness video campaign, in which various leaders and entrepreneurs talk about their experiences and journeys to success.  Thus far, our IAMA team has interviewed 19 entrepreneurs and successful leaders, including Justin Trudeau (Member of Parliament), Andy Nulman (Past CEO of Just for Laughs and CEO of Airborne Mobile), and Jeff Adams (Paralympics Champion and CEO of Marvel Wheelchairs.)

IAMA’s website is launching a new video and interview every Wednesday, so be sure to visit the site often!  While you’re there, don’t forget to read the IAMA blog, which is filled with interesting tales of achieving success and overcoming challenges by leaders and entrepreneurs whose ambitions have guided them.

As many of you know from an earlier post, our team is working hard in the second round of selections for the Impact Apprentice Competition that takes place in August.

However, we would like your help in choosing the competitors!  Each candidate has submitted a 1-2 minute video on a topic that we have assigned them, and we would like you to vote for your favorites.  The videos have been posted here.  Don’t forget to check back often as more videos will be submitted as the deadline of July 11th approaches!  After you have voted, be sure to spread the word and encourage your friends to vote!
