Impact_transparent_RGBAt Impact, our main goal is to spread social entrepreneurship initiatives to youth across Canada. We have some really exciting events, programs and contests set to launch over the next few months, so be sure to keep following what we’re up to!


As entrepreneurs, we’re always focused on ROI and “Risk vs. Reward”, so how about we offer a no risk, high reward for helping us reach 2,000 Facebook Fans by July 31, 2010? Impact Apprentice Video Competition – Vote and Spread the Word!

As many of you know from an earlier post, our team is working hard in the second round of selections for the Impact Apprentice Competition that takes place in August.

However, we would like your help in choosing the competitors!  Each candidate has submitted a 1-2 minute video on a topic that we have assigned them, and we would like you to vote for your favorites.  The videos have been posted here.  Don’t forget to check back often as more videos will be submitted as the deadline of July 11th approaches!  After you have voted, be sure to spread the word and encourage your friends to vote!

How to Vote:

  1. Go to www.impactapprentice.ca
  2. Use the options in the top left corner to “Login with Facebook” or create your own account using your email with the “Register” option and login through that.
  3. Select the videos of your choosing and click on the “Vote for this Entry” button below the video.

You can vote for as many videos as you like, so feel free to choose more than one! You can vote for each video once per day until July 11, 2010 at midnight.

applybyAs this year’s Impact Apprentice competition is nearing, we have created a Facebook group and event for anyone who is interested in participating to join!

Impact Apprentice  is a hands-on competition in which 48 of Canada’s top post-secondary level students will compete in various unique real-life business challenges allowing them to demonstrate their entrepreneurship strength by applying their leadership, teamwork, management and marketing abilities.

ANY university students (not entering university in September, 2010) can apply, including those who have graduated as of April, 2010.

No matter what program you are in or how old you are…Impact Apprentice can benefit YOU! Benefits vary from $10 000 worth of goods in prizes as well as internship opportunities with some of the top firms in North America.

The first round of applications are due on June 13th at midnight, so apply now!

Impact Gala

Last week, Impact held its contest for a free ticket to this year’s Impact Gala.  People from all over the country told us why they wanted to go to the gala, and the entrants were placed in a random draw.

Now, the results are in and the winner has been selected!  The ticket to the Impact Gala goes to @daniellevine on Twitter.  Congratulations to daniellevine and many thanks to all of the contest participants!

Impact is giving away a ticket to this year’s Impact Gala.  The ticket ($600 total value) features access to a silent auction in support of Make a Wish Foundation, an inspiring keynote address, and the Impact Awards ceremony.

The prestigious gala takes place on the evening of Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Westin Harbour Castle located in Downtown Toronto.  More information on the Impact Gala can be found here.
