During Global Entrepreneurship Week, I have seen Twitter light up with quotes and suggestions from experienced entrepreneurs, industry, and government on how we can improve Canada’s youth entrepreneurship landscape.
However, one thing that I haven’t seen much of is feedback from the exact target audience, young high school and university students who are in the earliest steps of entrepreneurship spectrum. On Wednesday, November 18th, the Vancouver Economic Development Commission will host an all-day event titled InnoVasion at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Attending the event will be thousands of these young people, many of them who have very limited concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship. The event will feature a full line-up of top keynotes and workshops, in addition exhibition booths hosted by a number of entrepreneurial organizations.
At Impact BC’s Exhibition Booth we will engaging visitors through an interactive display where they will answer one of four entrepreneurship questions, with each answer contributing to build a spectacular structure made of plasticine and bamboo skewers (I know it sounds impressive!). Throughout the day, we will be posting the best answers to Impact’s Twitter account so that everyone else can follow along.
Here are the four questions that we will be asking:
- How do we make entrepreneurship cool?
- How can entrepreneurship improve the lives of youth?
- How can we get youth to act on their ideas?
- What would be the best entrepreneur superpower?
So follow along to our Twitter Account all day tomorrow and let us know what you think of our grassroots research!
